Krzysko connects as Barrington rolls on
Loren Krzysko belted her 40th career homer as Barrington's softball team shut out Prospect 10-0 in 5 innings in the semifinals of the Class 4A Buffalo Grove regional.
The senior third baseman went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and her 16th home run of the season, placing her 12th on the all-time IHSA list for a single-season homers.
It was Barrington's 45th homer as a team, which puts the Fillies at eighth place on that all-time list.
Sophomore Keenan Dolezal (24-1) fired a 1-hit shutout with 5 strikeouts as the Fillies (31-1) advance to Saturday's championship game against the winner of today's semifinal between No. 8 Buffalo Grove and No. 9 Loyola.
Krista Moore, Katie Dehnert, Erin Ward and Sam Rosenfeld each hit for Barrington as Fillies coach Perry Perry Peterson collected career win No. 650.
The only hit by Prospect (9-20) was a leadoff single to center by Maggie Pancini in the fourth inning.

The win over No. 14 Von Steuben advances Maine West to Saturday's championship against the winner of today's semifinal between No. 5 St. Ignatius and No. 10 Evanston.
St. Charles East 9, Hoffman Estates 2: No. 17 Hoffman Estates fell to top-seeded St. Charles East in the semifinals of the Class 4A Glenbard West regional in Glen Ellyn.
The Hawks (4-23) received hits from freshman Tracy Osimowicz, junior Natalie Biddle and senior Heather Bartoszewski. Hoffman junior Andrea Wolinski had an RBI and classmate Sam Acosta walked and collected 2 stolen bases.
New Trier 11, Hersey 1 (6 inn.): No. 15-seed Hersey (6-21) fell to the top-seeded New Trier in the Trevians own Class 4A regional semifinal in Winnetka.
