Relax with 'A Spiritual Spa' April 25 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church

Doesn't a break - some time to yourself, for yourself - sound like a good idea? So indulge yourself with "A Spiritual Spa" that will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

The program includes sampling yoga, reflexology, guided meditation and longevity lifestyle with professionals who will be available to demonstrate the various topics, offer advice, and answer questions.

Topics and presenters will be: yoga with Patti Essig, a local Amrit yoga certified 2nd level teacher, spiritual director and retreat facilitator; and reflexology with Kathy Ford, R.N., director of pastoral care/service at St. Raphael Catholic Parish, Naperville, who will demonstrate how gentle pressure, especially on specific points of the feet, can be revitalizing.

Chari Rosales, director of adult faith formation at St. Thomas the Apostle, will explain and demonstrate how guided meditation works to relieve tension while Steve Superczynski, D.C., chiropractor at Superczynski Family, Naperville, will be on hand to explain how adopting healthy lifestyle habits can contribute to a longer, healthier life.

"A Spiritual Spa" is being co-sponsored by Sophia's Circle and Wellspring, two ministries active at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Sophia's Circle plans and facilitates three micro retreats annually on topics related to women's spirituality. Wellspring programs seek to present interactive educational experiences for men and women with the goal of promoting a wholistic way of life that includes body-mind-spirit integration and well-being.
