Register for preschoolRegistration for Cary Elementary District 26's blended preschool program will be from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at Three Oaks School, 1514 Three Oaks Road. The program, which starts in the fall, is open to children who live in District 26 and will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2010. You can enroll in either a three-day or four-day day program. Call (847) 516-6350 for more information.McHenry Co., Pace expand Dial-A-RideMcHenry County is teaming with Pace to offer expanded Dial-A-Ride transit service beginning Feb. 13. The funding will be provided by the county's Transit Grant Program and Senior Services Grant Fund. Rides will be available for trips beginning or ending within the city boundaries of Crystal Lake, McHenry and Woodstock, as well as to and from the Valley Hi Nursing Home or the Fox Lake Metra station. Those 65 and older and people with disabilities are also eligible for trips originating or ending anywhere in McHenry or Dorr townships. All one-way trips are $3 and must be paid in cash. Rides must be scheduled one day in advance. Required registration can be made online at McHenryCountyDOT.org. The noncompetitive festival will be held on Tuesday, March 23 at Westfield Community School, 2100 Sleepy Hollow Road, Algonquin.
