Sherman to host ball:"Dreams Do Come True," the 46th annual Sherman Hospital Auxiliary Benefit Ball, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, 1551 N. Thoreau Drive. Proceeds will go toward the auxiliary's $1 million goal for the birthing center at the new hospital that opened last month. The black tie optional event will feature dinner, cocktails, dancing to the music of "The Al Sofia Orchestra" and free valet parking. Reservations are $150 per person. The screenings each cost $35 and measure cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure, among other indicators. They will be at McHenry County College, 8900 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake.
