Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Named Among Best in Illinois by U.S. News & World Report
Recognized for delivering exceptional patient care, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital has been named among the finest hospitals in Chicago and Illinois, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2017-2018 Best Hospitals list. Lutheran General Hospital tied for eighth in Illinois and seventh in the Chicago Metro Area.

Lutheran General Hospital was also ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the nation in Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery and was high performing in Cancer, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Urology.

Other Advocate hospitals honored with a Top Hospital recognition include Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn; Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove; Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin; Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. All six sites were named among the top 20 in the Chicago metro area.
The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, now in its 28th year, evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide and are designed to help patients make informed decisions about where to receive care. The methodologies include readmission rates, patient experience and safety, quality of nursing care and other care-related indicators.
