Deerfield's Standing Tall for Veterans announces award
During the March 12 Standing Tall for Veterans fundraiser, Deerfield-based United Relief Foundation presented the event's organizers, Dan Green's Touch a Life Heal a Heart, with the foundation's Spirit of Giving Award for their extraordinary generosity in the service of those who served the United States.
United Relief Foundation's president Frank Salato made the presentation to Mary Kriete-Green, president of Dan Green's Touch a Life Heal a Heart, before a capacity attendance crowded into Lucke's Cantina in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, to help raise money to aid homeless, homebound and hospitalized veterans.
"All United Relief Foundation volunteers and donors are valued, however when contributors were asked, they agreed Mary and her organization deserved special recognition," Salato said. "By Standing Tall for Vets with us the members of Dan Green's Touch a Life Heal a Heart have contributed more than they realize in making profoundly positive differences in the lives of our military heroes in need."
Based in Fontana, Wisconsin, Dan Green's Touch a Life Heal a Heart was founded by Mary Kriete-Green with a couple of close friends to honor the charitable spirit of Mary's deceased husband Dan. Since 2014 the organization has been instrumental in United Relief Foundation's "Giving Works" efforts to provide veterans in need care, comfort and compassion.
United Relief Foundation is 501(c)(3) humanitarian aid organization of volunteers dedicated to providing homeless, homebound and hospitalized veterans with lifelines of hope and help.
