Willow Creek Community Church to host World Food Fair Sept. 10

All seven church campuses to host World Food Fair events, celebrating the diversity and cultures of Chicago-area Willow locations

Submitted by Natalie Bellantuono

Willow Creek Community Church will host its first annual World Food Fair events at its seven Chicago area church campuses on Sunday, Sept, 10. Times will vary across the locations, but promises to be a fun and tasty celebration of the unique cultures and diversity present at all the campuses, where 146 total booths will represent at least 41 different countries!

What began seven years ago as a glorified potluck at the South Lake campus in Lincolnshire has become a large and joyful annual event there. Renowned locally for serving up a unique take on the cultural heritage and diversity of the congregation, the World Food Fair has grown into a must-attend event. And now, it will be shared with all Willow congregations.

Julie Jin, associate pastor for South Lake, said, "We love celebrating the diversity and culture of God's people gathered at our church. Not only do we get to enjoy a fantastic array of delicious food from around the world, but also learn more about our community and how we're uniquely designed by God."

"The stories that come out from this event really showcase God's heart for all people, and we're always overwhelmed by the strength of love and display of unity."

Each Willow Creek location will hold its own World Food Fair events at various times, and they're encouraging the community to be a part of them!
