Fall Concert at Woodlands Academy Oct. 20

The Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart Music Department presents its Cabaret fall concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20. This annual event, held in the cafeteria at the school, 760 E. Westleigh Road in Lake Forest, is open to the public free of charge as a means of introducing this year's musical groups and student talent.

Choral groups Kaleidoscope, JV-Kaleidoscope (A Choir'd Taste), the Performing Arts chorus and Microscope will perform numbers that are light-hearted in nature. Selections include "Rockin Robin," "Since I Fell for You" and "Don't Stop Believe'n."

The student-led Microscope under the direction of Chloe Tomkins, a senior from Lake Forest, will perform "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows."

Other performances will include small group ensembles, vocal and instrumental soloists. Student accompanists, sophomore Shi Yu Wang and freshmen Quiran Dong, are both from China.

The concert is under the direction of Elizabeth Kurowski, coordinator of music ministry, with instrumentalists under the advisement of Lauren Moldenhauer, orchestra director.
