Reservation deadline draws near for Strays' dinner dance fundraiser

Reservations for Strays 16th Annual Dinner/Dance and Auction should be received by Nov. 10 for the event on Nov. 18 at Villa Olivia Country in Bartlett.

Tickets are $35 per person.

Obedience Trial:ŒFox Valley Dog Training Club's Obedience Trial on Sunday will be its 56th and a first for the Rally Trial. The show hours at Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles will be 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. with judging from 8 a.m. until between 2 and 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free and food will be available. New classes:ŒRiver Trails Park District will have new class sessions at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 13 for dogs of all ages. This class is Tricks and Treats. Basic Obedience class starts at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 14. Winter session:ŒRand Park Dog Training Club's winter training classes start Dec. 4 with orientation on Nov. 27. Registration forms should be received no later than Nov. 13. The nonmember fee is $100 and $70 for members. Registration includes the regular information form, health certification, fee and choice of class. Pet photos:ŒFour Paws Animal Foundation will have Pet Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus fundraisers from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Banbury Fair, 211 Railroad Ave., Bartlett, and 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at Hanover Park Animal Care Center, 1920 Ontarioville Road. You can include family members in the 5-by-7 photos for a $10 donation on either date. These will be available for pickup the following Saturday at the same location. Entry deadline: Northwest Obedience Club has set 5 p.m. Nov. 28 as the deadline to enter its 24th Annual Winter Obedience Trial and 3rd Rally Trial. The Rally on Dec. 14 and Obedience on Dec. 15 are in the Training Center, 735 Industrial Drive, Cary. The fee is $25 for the first entry of a dog and $20 for each additional entry of the same dog in the same event. Rally and Obedience are separate events. Another loss:ŒSympathy is extended to the family of Walter C. Ross of Glendale Heights who died Oct. 27. He was a longtime member of Northwest Obedience Club, breeder of Golden Retrievers and was an active participant at International Kennel Club of Chicago dog shows and obedience trials.
