Hearing checks to benefit charity
The Hearing Specialists of DuPage will hold its second "Hear for the Holidays" charity event to benefit Humanitarian Service Project, a not-for-profit agency helping the needy in DuPage County.
From today through Nov. 16, free hearing screening and ear checks will be given in exchange for those who bring donations in the form of nonperishable goods such as canned food or books.

Seniors are invited to free health fair
A Senior Health Fair, for seniors, retirees and their caregivers, will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale.
Investment and retirement planning, rehabilitation and nursing care, guardianship, home health care, retirement communities, funeral pre-planning and elder law will be discussed.

Learn to eat right during the holidays
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle during the hectic holidays will be the program at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale. American Girl show to be this weekend
The 2007 American Girl Fashion Show, to benefit the Robert Crown Center for Health Education in Hinsdale, will offer an educational and entertaining look at how generations of American girls have used clothing to express themselves at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Doubletree Hotel, 1909 Spring Road, Oak Brook.
The 11 a.m. show will include brunch, and the 2:30 show will include lunch. Tickets cost $40.
The center provides health education programs to children, parents and teachers to help motivate young people to make healthy choices as they grow.

Musician to take the stage at COD
Grammy Award-winning pianist, harmonica player and slack-key guitarist George Winston will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday on the Mainstage of McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
