Gymnastics Day is celebrated in Elgin

Spring Hill Gymnastics invites you to celebrate National Gymnastics Day with them from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1016 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin, corner of Big Timer and N. McLean Blvd.

During the event there will be tours of the facility, fitness challenges for the kids to win prizes, demonstrations by the girls and boys competitive team members, raffles and door prizes.

National Gymnastics Day aims to encourage and promote physical fitness and bring attention nationwide to the sport of gymnastics. Participation in gymnastics is a fun way to build strength, flexibility and coordination, and enhance self-esteem and goal-setting abilities. This celebration of sports, physical fitness, and, of course, gymnastics, will be an exciting experience for all ages and it's free.

Experience Italian Night at Oak Crest

The community is invited to Italian Night at the Oak Crest Residence and Atrium Apartments at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15. Italian Night begins with a salad bar featuring mozzarella capresse, seafood salad and more. Main entrees include eggplant Parmesan, gnocchi with marinara sauce, spaghetti and meatballs and Italian sausage. Dessert will be a creamy and delicious Tiramisu. Dinner will be served in the Cellar Pub. Donation of $12.50 per dinner is suggested. Make your reservations with Mary Lou at (847) 742-2255.
