Woodstock woman gets MCC scholarship

The McHenry County College Staff Council has recently awarded a $500 scholarship for Fall 2008 semester to Ashley Krzciuk of Woodstock. The scholarship is for tuition, books and/or academic supplies.

Krzciuk is pursuing an associate in science degree at MCC and plans to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Fall 2009 to complete a degree in biology. She plans to continue her education in veterinary medicine and specialize in marine mammals upon her acceptance at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

She is a volunteer at Helping Paws in Woodstock and a mentor at Dean Street School. She works part-time at Centegra in Woodstock in the Food and Nutrition Department. She is the daughter of Sherrie and Chet Krzciuk.

To qualify for the MCC Staff Council Scholarship, students must have a 3.0 grade-point average or comparable grade point average and be enrolled at MCC with at least six credit hours.

Students must also show involvement in the community and/or school activities.
