National Night Out in Huntley
The "25th Annual National Night Out Against Crime" will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
National Night Out is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
Generate support, and participation in, local anti-crime programs.
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and working with the police.
These events are scheduled for National Night Out in Huntley:
Covington Lakes will be having a block party at Borhart Park between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Del Webb will be holding a softball game and a subdivision wide block party at Eakin Field, fun begins at 5:15 p.m., game time 6:30 p.m. Citizens First National Bank will be providing hot dogs and beverages. Come on down and support your favorite team and meet your neighbors.
Georgian Place will be having a block party at Parisek Park. The fun will kick off with a decorative bicycle parade at 6 p.m. Then head to the park with a small dessert to pass as well as a family friendly beverage and enter the Baggo Tournament, get your face painted or just relax from 6 to 8 p.m.
Greentrees will be having a block party in the Community Room at 6:30 p.m.
Heritage will be having a block party at Tures Park from 7 to 9 p.m.
Huntley Meadows will be having a Hawaiian themed block party on Preston Parkway at Main Street. Come out and meet your neighbors and bring an appetizer or dessert to pass, your favorite lawn chair and a beverage. Remember to wear something Hawaiian and enter the limbo contest from 6 to 8 p.m.
Lincoln Street will be having a traditional block party with good food and great conversation from 6 to 8 p.m.
Northbridge will be having a block party at Ruth Park. There will be a variety of events including face painting, a children's coloring area, family relay races and more. So bring a dessert to pass and enjoy the fun from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
Margaret Avenue will be having a traditional block party. Bring a finger food to pass and your favorite chair from 6 to 9 p.m.
Southwind will be having a block party at Weiss Park between 6 and 8 p.m.
Talamore will be having a block party at the Talamore Club House between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Wingpointe will be having a block party at Kiley Park at 6 p.m.
