Harper Chorus seeks area singers
The Festival Chorus of Harper College is looking for area singers to join the chorus for the fall/winter concert season. The 70-voice community chorus will be performing Handel's "Messiah" and a selection of much-loved Holiday carols at the annual Holiday concert, Sunday, Dec. 7 at Harper College's Performing Arts Center.
Rehearsals are 7:30 to 10 p.m. Mondays beginning Aug. 18 in Room P202 at Harper College in Palatine.

Child Safety Day set in Algonquin

St. Laurence holds registration
St. Laurence School will hold registration for the 2008-09 school year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (today) Aug. 13.
St. Laurence offers a 3- and 4-year-old preschool program, an all-day kindergarten, and classes through the eighth grade. Included in the comprehensive curriculum are activities and programs for all student abilities and interests.

Rehab center to hold fall festival
South Elgin Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 746 W. Spring St., South Elgin is hosting a Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23. The event includes a health fair, crafts, food, games and prizes.
