St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Parish, 1280 Prospect Ave., Des Plaines, will host the 24-week Great Adventure Bible Timeline Story developed by Jeff Cavins. For the third year, St. John UCC is offering a labyrinth. The labyrinth, mowed into the church's lawn at 1475 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, is a seven-circuit adaptation of the 11-circuit labyrinth found in Chartres Cathedral in France. There is a single path going into and out the center. .
Holy Family Catholic Community will dedicate the new Brennan Center for Children, Youth and Families following the 4:30 p.m. Mass Sept. 6. The facility is named in honor of the Rev. Patrick Brennan, pastor for the last 13 years. The $6.7 million addition to the parish will provide an additional 38,400 square feet of adaptive multipurpose space for parish ministries, youth groups and other activities serving the needs of the Holy Family community. Unity World Day of Prayer will be held Sept. 11. People around the world will join with Unity churches and prayer groups in a sacred partnership of prayer - the 15th annual Unity World Day of Prayer. Women's programs
The Ladies of St. Marcelline, 822 S. Springinsguth, Schaumburg, invite all to join them Sept. 25 for Women at the Well, a program co-sponsored with the parish and Alexian Brothers Hospital Network. The gathering is held in the parish Family Room, where participants enjoy a light meal, followed by a presentation. The recently formed Holy Ghost Ladies Auxiliary's mission is to assist the Knights of Columbus Holy Ghost Council 4977 enriching the parish community through charitable work, leadership and spirituality. The group develops its own special projects and fundraising events, as well as supporting the Knights and other church ministries.
