Cruisin' Cay car show to return
The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will again present the Cruisin' Cary car show. Cruisin' Cary continues from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, through Aug. 27 on West Main Street and Jandus Road, off Route 14. The event attracts several hundred residents and car enthusiasts to downtown Cary.
Each Wednesday has its theme. The schedule includes
June 25: Chevelle/Camaro Night
July 2: Street Rod Night
July 9: Import Sports Car Night
July 16: Mopar Car Night
July 23: Rag Top Night
July 30: Cobra/Mustang Night
Aug. 6: GM Night
Aug. 13: Emergency and Military Vehicle/Truck Night
Aug. 20: Land Yachts, Minis and Macros Night
Aug. 27: People's Choice Night.
While all classic cars, hot rods, antiques, muscle cars and more are welcome each night, there is a nightly theme for judging.
Trophies and ribbons will be awarded at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday.
Throughout the night, there will be split-the-pot raffles and free giveaways.
Cruisin' Cary staff will be selling Fuel the Chamber raffle tickets for $5 each, where the chamber will pay the August home electric bill up to $500 for the first-place winner, and fill a gas tank three times up to $200 for the second-place winner.
