Thomas Carroll has been named head coach of the Oak Brook Park District's Stars Swim Team program, a year-round competitive swim team for children ages 6 to 18. Carroll started swimming at age 5 and competed throughout high school and college, where he achieved several honors.

Chip Humes of Winfield recently was appointed to the GlenOaks Hospital Foundation board of directors. Humes, 25, is co-owner and director of Humes Funeral Home in Addison. He also is president of the Addison Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as a member of the boards of directors for Driscoll Catholic High School and the DuPage County Funeral Directors Association.

Maggie Olsen of Roselle and Paula Reynolds of Hinsdale both were recipients of the Recognition of Excellence Award from the DuPage Valley Division of the Illinois Association of School Nurses. Olsen serves in Glenbard High School District 87 and Reynolds works for the School Association for Special Education in Du Page County.
