Naperville North 4, West Chicago 2:ŒJake Naumann (3-1) was the complete-game winner for the host Huskies (7-2, 1-0) in their DuPage Valley Conference win. Jordan Tassio drove in the game-winning run in the sixth inning with one of his 3 hits. Mike Nodzenski singled home an insurance run.
Naperville Central 4, Glenbard North 3:ŒThe host Redhawks (5-2, 1-0) scored the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the seventh to win in the DuPage Valley Conference. Pat Kaminska's single knotted the score at 3-3, and Marc Mantucca's won the game. Andy Pucher (3-0) was the winning pitcher.
Neuqua Valley 10, St. Charles East 6:ŒKyle Kalkofen and Jason David had 3 hits apiece as the host Wildcats (4-2, 1-0) won their opener in the Upstate Eight Conference. Hunter Pruitt drove in 3 runs. Mike McKinley (1-1) pitched 6 innings for the win.
Lake Park 2, Bartlett 0:ŒVito LaPorta (2-0) pitched 6½ scoreless innings to lead the host Lancers (4-1, 1-0) to the Upstate Eight Conference victory. Mario Fearon drove in a run.
Waubonsie Valley 6, South Elgin 1:ŒFour runs in the top of the seventh inning broke open a close game for the visiting Warriors (2-6, 1-1) in their Upstate Eight Conference win. Zac Volland and Trevor Romeo each homered and drove in 2 runs. Pat Murphy (2-0) struck out eight in 6 innings to earn the win.
St. Francis 10, Aurora Christian 7:ŒJason Lombardi went 4-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI for the visiting Spartans (6-1) in their nonconference win. Winning pitcher Dean Quaranta (1-0) went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Hinsdale Central 5, Lyons Twp. 3:ŒDavid Kiyosaki launched a go-ahead 2-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning as the host Red Devils (3-3, 1-2) rallied to a West Suburban Silver Conference victory. Brock Piche went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI.
Downers North 7, York 6:ŒDan Sheppard's two-out solo home run in the bottom of the seventh kept the host Trojans (6-1, 4-0) unbeaten in the West Suburban Silver Conference. Sheppard went 4-for-4 while York's Luke Regole went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI.
Downers South 11, Addison Trail 1:ŒAnthony Fiorenzi went 5-for-5, hit for the cycle and drove in 5 runs as the visiting Mustangs (8-2, 5-0) swept the West Suburban Gold Conference series.
Hinsdale South 4, Willowbrook 3:ŒThe host Hornets (2-4, 2-2) scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the West Suburban Gold Conference win. Nick Bryant (1-1) allowed no earned runs in the complete-game win.
