Nominations due for public health awards

The deadline is rapidly approaching for nominations for the annual Spirit of Public Health Awards.

In its third year, the McHenry County Department of Health sponsors the contest to acknowledge individuals who have demonstrated a commitment toward improving the health of the community.

Categories include students, volunteers and professionals.

A description of the Spirit Award and the nomination form can be viewed online at www.mcdh.info, along with winners from previous years.

Be specific when discussing the person or group being nominated and how their contribution embodies the spirit of public health.

Selected candidates will be notified and awards will be presented at a event in April celebrating Public Health Month.
