Midwest Bassbusters: Midwest Bassbusters, a bass fishing club, is looking for new members, at any experience level. No boat is necessary. The group fishes one weekend a month from April through October, and monthly meeting are held at Where Else Lounge, Higgins and Lively roads in Elk Grove Village. Mixed golf league: The Monday twilight mixed "fun golf" league is seeking new golfers. The league plays at Old Orchard Country Club May 1 through Aug. 28, with tee times beginning at 4:15 p.m. Weekly play is not mandatory, and discounted greens frees are available for non-residents of Prospect Heights Park District. Weekly contests are held with an annual tournament in September at another course with cash prizes awarded based on handicapped foursome performance. Northwest Suburban Astronomers: The Northwest Suburban Astronomers will host Fermilab physicist Don Lincoln today as guest speaker for its 7:30 p.m. meeting at the Hoffman Estate Park District Community Center, 1685 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates. Lincoln's talk presents the assumptions inherent in the dark matter debate and shows that the existence of dark matter is only one possible explanation. Free.
