Outlook The Red Raiders look to bounce back from their first loss of the season with a win in the first Valley Division game in school history. Huntley jumped to a 16-0 lead last week, but 4 lost fumbles and 2 interceptions allowed Woodstock to rally. "Some things didn't go our way, but it wasn't because lack of effort or what (the players) are giving us," Huntley coach Steve Graves said. "We have no reason to believe they won't come out and play hard again. We've had one Achilles' heel, and that's turnovers. That's not something we say lightly. Even though as a coach you're not the one fumbling, it's still you teaching those kids and running drills that are supposed to keep kids from doing that. You have to develop a mentality with them where they develop a mentality where they just absolutely refuse to turn the ball over. Somewhere along the line we haven't been doing that good enough, so we've been working hard on that again as we have for three weeks. We hope one of these weeks it'll pay off." The Warriors' only victory came against Grayslake North in a 42-0 victory in Week 3. Otherwise, McHenry has been outscored 77-33 in losses to Larkin, St. Charles North and Crystal Lake Central. Offensively, the Warriors operate the majority of the time in a spread offense, led by senior quarterback Thomas Rose (82 of 126, 863 yds., 1 td, 4 int.) and senior receiver Trevor Marunde (19 rec., 204 yds., 1 TD). The Huntley defense has faced some prolific spread offenses already this season. "And we'll see some yet again after McHenry," Graves said. "When I first came here all you had to play was power football. Now we're seeing a lot of people have modernized their offenses and spread you out, this team being one of them." Huntley counters with senior running back Brett Kleckner (49 carries, 403 yds., 5 TDs) and elusive quarterback Tim Lycos (49 caries, 276 yds., 2TDs).
