Steak Stir Fry

1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 medium strip steaks, about 1 pound, cut in 1/4-inch thick strips (see note)

6 baby portobello mushrooms, cut in 1/2-inch chunks

Salt and pepper

1 large yellow onion, cut in 1/2-inch chunks

1 tablespoon garlic, minced

1 small zucchini, cut in 1/2-inch chunks

Stir-fry sauce

Sesame seeds

Heat large saute pan on medium-high. Add oil and sear beef in even layer 1 minute. Turn to other side and move to outside of pan.

Add mushrooms to center of pan and season with salt and pepper. Let cook about 1 minute, toss and move to outside with meat. Add onions and garlic to center, cook 1 minute and toss together with ingredients in pan. Add zucchini and mix well. Saute about 1 minute.

Add your favorite Asian sauce, such as sweet and sour or basic stir-fry sauce, just enough to coat everything evenly. Cook 1 minute more. Serve with rice, garnish with sesame seeds.

Serves four.

Cook's note: You may substitute pork, chicken or shrimp for the steak.
