Larkin prepares to host 15-team gymnastics invite

The 24th annual Larkin Royal Varsity Gymnastics Invitational is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Larkin High School.

The 15-team meet includes defending champion Buffalo Grove, Neuqua Valley, Wheaton Warrenville South, Mundelein, Lakes, Batavia, Wheaton North, Elk Grove, Fenton, Leyden, Schaumburg, Moline, South Elgin/Bartlett, Geneseo and the host Elgin/Larkin co-op team.

The format of the meet has each team sending four gymnasts up for each event and all four scores counting toward the team score.

The event will also feature the 12th annual Lyp-Sync contest between the various schools competing, just prior to the awards ceremony.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students with IDs, $1 for all non-competing gymnasts and free for senior citizens.
