Three re-elected in District 118
The incumbents on the Wauconda Unit District 118 school board each won a fresh four-year term with the exception of Nicholas Batson, who will be replaced by newcomer Gary E. Midkiff.
With ballots in all 16 precincts counted, unofficial totals show Deby Dato had 2,516 votes, Carey McHugh had 2,167 votes, Thomas A. Weber Sr. had 2,020 votes and Midkiff had 1,676 votes. Jonathan Feryance had 1,421 votes and Batson had 1,311 votes.
Some board members and residents called for Batson's resignation after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery last fall.
