Ellis helps lead Wauconda to win over McHenry
Tammy Ellis figured on both goals to help Wauconda's girls soccer team post a victory Saturday.
Ellis and Hannah Voyta each scored for the host Bulldogs in their 2-0, nonconference win over McHenry.
Ellis also had an assist, as did Aimee Prudhomme. Becky Breakfield earned the shutout in goal, as Wauconda improved to 5-3-1.
Antioch Invite: Host Antioch went 1-1-1 in its own invitational, getting a win over Westosha Central (3-0), but dropping a game to Marian Central (2-0) and tying with eventual champion Lake Forest Academy (1-1).
Mundelein goes winless on trip: The Mustangs' trip to Missouri turned out tougher than expected.
The Mustangs suffered three losses in less than 24 hours at the St. Louis Soccer Classic.
Mundelein (5-6-1) lost 1-0 decisions to Incarnate Word and tournament champion St. Joseph, then lost 3-1 to Parkway South on Saturday.
Ashley Begrowicz scored the Mustangs' only goal - her third of the season.
"We played three good teams," Mundelein coach Dave Ekstrom said. "It was a good experience. We're disappointed to go down there and lose three games. I hope we can transfer what we learned into conference (North Suburban) play."
Warren 3, Highland Park 2: The host Blue Devils got goals from Kelsey Armour, Jackie Luka and Megan Kilroy.
Armour also had an assist, while keeper Amanda Macuiba made 5 saves for Warren (3-4-2).
