Charity poker night
Win a seat worth $10,000 in the World Series of Poker Tournament in Las Vegas at the Marklund Casino Night & Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament Friday at McGrath Lexus of Chicago, 1250 W. Scholarship applications
Applications are being accepted for scholarships that Central DuPage Hospital's Auxiliary will award to high school, college and graduate students interested in pursuing a career in health care. To qualify, students must have plans to attend a college, university or graduate program in the fall. They also must document academic excellence, plan to pursue a career in health care and live within the CDH service area. Scholarship guidelines and applications are available at cdh.org. The completed application, personal statement, transcripts and reference letters are due by March 31.
Tidal wave auction approaching
St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin will hold its 20th annual Tidal Wave Auction/Dinner Dance, with the theme "Fruit of the Vine," April 4 at the Stonegate Centre in Hoffman Estates. Sponsorships and donations are being accepted for this largest fundraiser of the year. More than 300 are expected to attend. Cost is $80 per person, which includes dinner, dancing, silent/live auctions and an open bar. Items up for bid will include Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose autographed basketballs, a wine tasting party, sporting events tickets, several Chicago Bears autographed footballs, restaurant gift certificates, electronic products and more.
