Advocate Health Care’s proposal for an outpatient clinic offering immediate care service at the northwest corner of Route 12 and Miller Road will proceed to an official review process in Lake Zurich. The nonprofit health care system wants to annex five, 1-acre unincorporated lots into the village and consolidate them for development. The plan is to rezone the property from residential to business for a 12,500-square-foot facility with room for expansion.
New eateries spice up Rolling Meadows food scene
A chicken wing joint is among the new restaurants recently opened or coming to Rolling Meadows. Meetch’s Wings & Things, 1911 W. Algonquin Road, is a fast-casual restaurant serving crispy wings, stacked burgers and more all cooked in 100% beef tallow. The opening comes after extensive renovations to a vacant one-story, 1,800-square-foot office building.
Shuttered Vernon Hills furniture store to become athletic club
In the midst of the pandemic on June 26, 2020, a crowd waited outside a strip mall across from Six Flags Great America in Gurnee for the grand opening of Ryse Athletic Club. The club has grown exponentially in size and membership ever since. Now its owner plans to expand further by converting the former Carson’s Furniture Gallery store at 480 Ring Drive in Vernon Hills into a second Ryse club.

Mount Prospect looking at possible improvements for pedestrians, diners on Prospect Avenue
Mount Prospect village board members this week approved a $114,000 contract with Civiltech Engineering of Itasca to look at ways to enhance the look and feel of Prospect Avenue between Main Street and Elmhurst Avenue. Restaurants are popping up along Prospect Avenue, a phenomenon that led the village to put up barricades to create an alfresco dining area in front of the Patina Wine Bar and Lady Dahlia.
