DuPage County Dist. 2 board members host donation drive for domestic violence shelter

DuPage County Board members representing District 2 are hosting their second annual shelter needs donation drive to help victims of domestic violence.

Yeena Yoo, Liz Chaplin and Paula Deacon Garcia — all who represent District 2 on the county board — are coordinating the drive, which runs through the end of October. Donations will benefit Family Shelter Service of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage. October is domestic violence awareness month.

Household cleaning supplies and items on the shelter’s Amazon wishlist will help stock their 41-bed domestic violence shelter. Donations can be dropped off at drop boxes placed throughout the county at each of the county’s health centers. Drop boxes can be found at 1111 W. Lake St., Addison; 422 N. Cass St., Westmont; 1111 E. Jackson St., Lombard; and 115 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.

Additional drop boxes are at the Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave.; and the Lisle Library, 777 E. Front St.
