Elmhurst Choral Union presents Handel's 'Messiah' Dec. 17
The Elmhurst Choral Union will present Handel's "Messiah" on Sunday, Dec. 17, in Hammerschmidt Chapel.
The "Messiah" is known for its setting to sacred texts and rich orchestrations. It includes the dramatic "Hallelujah Chorus," which has become a crowd favorite during the Christmas season.
The group, led by artistic director Scott Uddenberg, will be accompanied by a full professional orchestra and professional soloists. The 60-plus member chorus has rehearsed and performed since its founding in 1952 at Elmhurst University, with a mission to create outstanding choral performances for the community to appreciate and enjoy.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. on the Elmhurst University campus, 190 S. Prospect.
Tickets are $25 or $15 for youth up to age 12.
Purchase tickets online at elmhurstchoralunion.org/tickets or at the door the day of the concert.
