Golf for Good benefits local first responder and student scholarships

The community will take to the links at Pinecrest Golf Club in Huntley on Friday, Sept. 8, to support local first responder AJ Gazda and student scholarships during Immanuel Crystal Lake's "Golf for Good" outing.

The 18-hole scramble has garnered tremendous support from local businesses, individual donors, and golfers who value the men and women who serve our community and the quality education provided by Immanuel Lutheran School in Crystal Lake.

A routine visit to the eye doctor led to the discovery of a brain tumor for Lake in the Hills Police Officer AJ Gazda, who has served the community for 18 years.

"Recovering from brain surgery has been a challenging journey for Officer Gazda and his spouse, Kara, who serves with the Carpentersville Police Department. 'Golf for Good' is honored to participate in his recovery and rehabilitation," said Don Kearley, Immanuel's director of discipleship.

Sponsor and golfer registration for Golf for Good continues through Tuesday, Aug. 15 at Immanuel's website, www.immanuelcl.org/golf-for-good.
