College of DuPage student ensembles to perform March 15 at the MAC

The College of DuPage Music program presents a concert featuring several student music ensembles on Wednesday, March 15, at the McAninch Arts Center.

It will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Belushi Performance Hall on COD's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

The evening of music will feature a colorful assortment of genres and ensembles with a wide variety of musical curation. COD Chamber Orchestra Director Mark Liu promises an evening of "orchestra music from Baroque to modern."

"Audiences will enjoy Bach's Brandenburg Concert No. 3, the Irish romantic melody 'Danny Boy,' a rhythmically driven piece written by Hermann Schroeder, a 20th-century composer, and more," he said.

Other performances include the Chamber Singers and Concert Choir directed by Patrick O'Shea; Percussion Ensemble, directed by Ben Wahlund; and Jazz/Pop Combos under the direction of Music Chair Matt Shevitz.

"Audiences will be treated to an eclectic evening of music featuring a variety of ensembles," Shevitz said. "There is truly something for everyone in this program!"

Tickets to the concert are $7. For more information, call the MAC Box Office at (630) 942-4000 or visit atthemac.org.
