Be a temporary foster for Orphans of the Storm

Orphans of the Storm has relaunched its temporary foster program in advance of St. Patrick's Day.

"With our 'Paws for Luck' event, there is only a minimum three-day commitment; no strings attached. And who knows, you may just find your forever lucky charm," said Kristen Castro, a manager at Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter.

"Alongside this event, we will also be waiving fees for all of our dogs 40 pounds and over. While these pets may need a little extra wiggle room, they will sure wiggle their way into your heart," Castro said.

To sign up, you must first head to bit.ly/OOTSPawsforLuck and choose your pickup time. There, you can select which dogs you would like to potentially foster, but no dog can be guaranteed to any particular person until pickup.

Dogs must have been on-site for two weeks or longer. Dogs who are participants in the event will have a "Paws for Luck" attribute on their profile.

After you sign up for a pickup time, you then will receive a "matchmaking" phone call.

Ensure you have the foster application filled out prior to the call; you can do so at shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/OOTS/Dog.

If you are interested in participating in the OOTS Paws for Luck event, check out the details below:

• Minimum commitment is three days.

• Pickup is Friday, March 10.

• Drop off is Sunday, March 12, or Tuesday, March 14.

• Signup for drop-off times will be communicated after pickup.

• Supplies are provided.
