YMCA to Hold Art Show at the Northbrook Library in March

During the month of March, the North Suburban YMCA is showcasing its Winter Session art students' work at the Northbrook Public Library. The show runs from March 1-31 and features painting and sculptures from students ranging in age from 3 years old to adult.

"This year's Northbrook Library art show features over 100 pieces from our talented artists in both 2D and 3D including mixed media, acrylics and watercolors," said Cathie Winnie, director of the Y's Visual Arts Program. The 2D art pieces are placed throughout the library, and the 3D pieces will be on the second floor in the Children's Services section.

The North Suburban YMCA offers a creative variety of art classes for children, teens, adults, seniors, and individuals with special needs. Classes include pre-school art, ceramics and sculpture, and metalsmithing, water colors, digital art, mixed media, and art workshops.

The Y's Visual Arts department and Community Gallery help support the local arts community by giving it a place to show and sell their works.
