Lavelle Law Attorneys Host Event for Small Business Owners Focused on Finding Retail Space
Lavelle Law attorneys Kelly Anderson and Frank Portera, along with Benna Hermanson of BRH Real Estate Consulting, will be hosting a seminar entitled, "Your Small Business: Finding the Best 'Brick and Mortar' Location," at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library on March 1 at 7:00 p.m.
This free hour-and-a-half event will focus on important purchasing, leasing, operational, and legal considerations for small business owners looking to lease or buy a new space, or relocate their brick and mortar store. Anderson and Portera will share insights and answer attendees' questions about finding and securing the perfect space for their business.
"Legal terminology and contracts can be incredibly confusing, especially for business owners who are already spinning a lot of plates," said Anderson. "Our goal is to help business owners know what to focus on when negotiating their lease or purchase agreement, and how to structure the transaction, to ensure the long-term success of their business."
Anderson, a Shareholder at Lavelle Law, has been with the firm for over a decade and primarily works with the real estate practice group. Portera works with Lavelle's business, M&A, banking, and real estate practice groups, serves on the Board of Directors for the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Arlington Heights Zoning Board of Appeals.
"As attorneys who are committed to building stronger communities we strive to help translate our ever-changing laws,"Portera said. "We hope this seminar provides some insights for business owners looking to lease or purchase a new space, so they can make choices that will maximize business growth."
"Your Small Business: Finding the Best 'Brick and Mortar' Location," takes place on Wednesday, March 1, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Cardinal Room at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. A library card is not required to attend. Attendees can register online at https://www.ahml.info/scheduling/reservation/101049.
