Huntley Knights to host Bags Tournament and Chili Cookoff Feb. 4

The Knights of Columbus Council 11666 of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley is sponsoring a bags tournament and chili cook-off on Saturday, Feb. 4 at The Mission of Cor Jesu, 5615 Hamilton Road in Woodstock.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Grafton Township Food Pantry. Bags will start flying at 11:30 a.m., followed by chili cook-off tasting and voting. There also will be hot dogs, chips, pop, beer and water.

The cost to participate in the tournament is $20 per team (two-person teams; minimum age of 14 to play).

The early registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Day-of registration will cost $30 per team. Food and drinks will be available.

Also, participating teams are asked to bring an item to donate to the food pantry.

Suggested donation items include: gas cards and gift cards for local stores; paper towels, tissues, toilet paper; household cleaning products; laundry detergent, dish soap and sponges; glass or plastic food bags and storage containers; garbage bags of all sizes; aluminum foil and plastic wrap; body wash, deodorant, lotions; shampoo and conditioner; combs, brushes, hair products; toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss; razors and shaving cream; and feminine hygiene products.
