Chambers host ribbon cutting and grand opening of Algonquin Goldfish Swim School

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, the Cary-Grove Area and Algonquin/Lake in the Hills chambers of commerce co-hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Goldfish Swim School, 718 S. Randall Road, Unit 6, Algonquin.

Goldfish Swim School, the country's leading water safety and swim lesson school offering infant and child swim lessons, is pleased to announce that a new 10,000-square-foot location is now open in Algonquin.

The newest addition to the Goldfish Swim School family began welcoming swimmers into the pool in mid-November. Goldfish Swim School Algonquin joins 13 Chicago-area locations.

Located at 750 S. Randall Road, Goldfish Swim School Algonquin provides indoor, year-round swim instruction to children ages 4 months to 12 years-old in a safe, fun and family-friendly setting with highly trained instructors, small class sizes (max 4:1 student to teacher ratio), shiver-free 90-degree pools, and a state-of-the-art water purification system. Goldfish offers convenient scheduling options and families can easily book makeup classes when necessary.

In addition to swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School offers frequent family swims (for both members and non-members) and party packages. Facility highlights include an air-conditioned viewing gallery for parents to watch lessons, warm showers, individual/private changing rooms, blow dry station, snack bar, retail shop and warm, tropical décor.

Local husband and wife team Chris and Carrie Chin are thrilled to bring Goldfish Swim School to Kane and McHenry County families. "As parents of three with over 40 years of combined aquatics instruction between us, we understand how important water safety is to all families. Our kids learned to swim at Goldfish Swim School, and we look forward to bringing the Goldfish curriculum, high quality instruction and state-of-the-art facility to families in our community. Our team is committed to ensuring that children have a safe, fun, and friendly place to learn this life-saving skill," notes Goldfish Swim School Algonquin owner Carrie Chin.

Drowning remains the number one cause of accidental death for kids under age 4. The Goldfish team is committed to changing this statistic by providing swim lessons and water safety education to local families. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children participate in regular, high quality swim lessons starting at age one.

Goldfish Swim School Algonquin offers free water safety presentations to any interested school, scout group or community organization. Reach out to swimalgonquin@goldfishss.com for more details.

Families can register for swim lessons now by visiting the website or calling (224) 397-2000. All are welcome to attend the grand opening celebration on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
