Enjoy the season's greetings at Wheeong Park District

Santa's special mailbox will be in front of the Community Recreation Center, from Nov. 25 to Dec. 9, for children to drop off their letters to Santa. Santa is super busy this season, but if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope, Santa will send a reply before Christmas Day. Letters may also be mailed to Santa Claus, c/o Wheeling Park District, 100 Community Blvd., Wheeling, IL 60090.
The stars are brightly shining. It's time to celebrate the Holidays at Holiday Hoopla from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Community Recreation Center. This free, all-ages event includes face painting, arts and crafts, photos with Santa, and a special performance from Those Funny Little People at 2:15 p.m.
Ho, Ho, Splash. Come swim with Santa from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. Participants, ages 3-8, will enjoy treats, crafts, holiday music, and more. This event will be held at the Wheeling Park District indoor pool. The deadline for registration is Friday, Dec. 9. Secure your lane for $7. Availability is limited.
Home is where the heart is. Families will get the chance to build and decorate gingerbread houses on Friday, Dec. 16. This event will be hosted at Wheeling Park District's Community Recreation Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A gingerbread house, frosting, and candy for decorating will be provided per family. This event is for ages 3 and older. For residents, the fee is $20 and for nonresidents, it is $25.
Make your way into the new year with the kids at Happy Noon Year on Dec. 31. Join in on the festivities including games, music, a balloon drop, and a sparkling grape-juice toast. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required; the fee is $2/person.
