Music, dance and family fun at second annual Naperville Irish Fest Aug. 5-6
The second annual Naperville Irish Fest, a two-day, family-friendly festival, is set for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5-6.
The event, presented by the West Suburban Irish, will be held from 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Frontier Sports Complex, 3380 Cedar Glade Road in south Naperville.
"Naperville Irish Fest has an incredible music lineup of classic Irish music to contemporary performers. Irish dancers will be performing on stage and teaching how to dance the jig throughout the festival," said Terry O'Dowd, event founder and co-chair with his wife, Marjorie O'Dowd.
"For families with children, Leprechaun Landing will feature children's activities until 7 p.m. both nights, with a Children's Parade on Saturday afternoon for all to join," Terry O'Dowd said. "The Naperville Irish Fest is open to everyone, and a good time will be had by all."
"The Naperville Irish Fest has activities for all ages to enjoy, including music, dancing, food/beer tents, an Irish Village full of Irish vendors, hurling/camogie, children's activities, including storytelling and scavenger hunts, Irish wolfhounds, bagpipes and much, much more," said Marjorie O'Dowd.
"We really wanted Naperville Irish Fest to be family focused, celebrating Irish culture and traditions."
Tickets to attend Naperville Irish Fest are $15 each; free for kids 15 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at NapervilleIrishFest.com.
