Elmhurst Library to host Virtual Author Fair Aug. 28

Elmhurst Public Library's annual Author Fair is virtual this year, available from the comfort of home! Throughout the day, participate in book talks and discussion panels with local authors, plus attend workshops on writing and becoming published.

Discussions and workshops begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day, concluding at 4 p.m.

Workshops include:

• Design Solutions to Writing Problems - Walk through several common novel-writing problems and fixes to those issues that can be applied to create or adapt solutions. Presented by The Writing Journey.

• Tension and Suspense Workshop - Award-winning mystery writer Patricia Skalka presents a workshop on building tension and suspense in your novel.

• Getting Started in Publishing - Learn how to find an agent and begin the process of publishing your book. Presented by newly-published Elmhurst author R.J. Hoffmann.

• On Originality - Steer clear of cliche and surprise your readers with original craft choices. Presented by award-winning author Ben Hoffman.
