Warrenville Summer Daze is back for fun Aug. 6-7

The streets of downtown Warrenville will come alive with fun, food and music Friday and Saturday, Aug. 6-7.

The 43rd annual Summer Daze of Warrenville offers a car show, live bands, children's activities, and food and business booths. General event and beer tent hours are Friday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. On-site seating will be limited. Bring your own lawn chairs, etc.

Owners of classics, hot rods or any other kind of cool cars are invited to display their rides at the car show during Summer Daze on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. the day of the show, which offers 23 classes and three awards for each. Awards will be presented at approximately 3:30 p.m. The car show is organized by Countryside Customs.

Hungry visitors will have a variety of food booths to choose from to satisfy any craving. Vendors will serve sandwiches, burgers, brats, wraps, desserts and more from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Business booths will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday to inform people of their products and services and sometimes distribute free samples.

Kids of all ages can find free fun and excitement during the event:

Friday:

5 to 7 p.m.: Face Painting by Sue Kleinwachter

5 to 8 p.m.: Petting Zoo by The Animal Express

5 to 8 p.m.: Warrenville Park District Inflatables

Saturday:

2 to 4 p.m.: Face Painting by Sue Kleinwachter

4 to 5 p.m.: Mad Science Show

5 to 8 p.m.: Warrenville Park District Inflatables

7 to 8 p.m.: Meet and Greet with “Poppy” from Trolls

8 to 9:30 p.m.: Troll World Tour Movie

Summer Daze is also proud to present a wide range of musical bands during both days of the event. Below is a schedule for featured bands:

Friday:

5 to 6:30 p.m.: Whiskey Jezebel - Acoustic Rock

7 to 8:30 p.m.: FeelGood Funk Band - Funk

9 to 11 p.m.: 7th Heaven - Pop Rock Band

Saturday:

2 to 3 p.m.: Miss Liz - Children's Musician

3:30-4:30 p.m.: Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band - Caribbean Music

5 to 6:30 p.m.: The Wayouts - 60's Garage Rock

7 to 8:30 p.m.: South City Revival - Country

9 to 11 p.m.: Lava Rock - Classic Rock

Summer Daze will be located in downtown Warrenville near the intersection of Route 56 (Butterfield Road) and Batavia Road and is presented by the Warrenville Park District, City of Warrenville, and the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce.
