Charles Troy to explore 'The Creation of Wicked' May 5 in St. Charles

The Norris Cultural Arts Center concludes its Spring season of "Wednesdays @ One" events on May 5 at the historic Baker Community Center in downtown St. Charles, when theater historian Charles Troy presents "The Creation of Wicked."

The most popular Broadway musical of the 21st century plays off one of the most popular Hollywood films of the 20th century. Inspired by "The Wizard of Oz," "Wicked" presents the story of two female protagonists that has struck a responsive chord with theatergoers everywhere.

Charles Troy returns to "Wednesdays @ One" after presenting "The Creation of My Fair Lady" in our inaugural season. His unique presentations employ a seamless blend of recorded songs, projected lyrics, original graphics, vintage photos, historic video and an extensively researched scripted narrative to dramatize the stories behind the great creations of the American Musical Theater.

Seating is limited and socially distanced for this free program at 1 p.m.
