Glenbard high schools in top 20% of Illinois schools among U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools

Glenbard District 87's four high schools are all in the top 20% of Illinois schools in U.S. News & World Report's 2020 listing of America's Best High Schools. Among 665 Illinois high schools, Glenbard West was ranked 24th in Illinois; Glenbard South was ranked 85th; Glenbard North was ranked 91st; and Glenbard East was ranked 127th.

Superintendent David Larson said, "It is affirming that the rankings are based on the same college readiness areas we have consistently focused on for many years, including participating in a challenging course sequence; rigorous writing, reading and math proficiency; and success in Advanced Placement courses. We appreciate the support of our students' families and our staff. They are helping students prepare for college, career and community success. Going forward, we also look forward to intentionally integrating our key Profile of a Graduate competencies, which were developed with students, staff, administrators, parents, business people, faith leaders, alumni and higher education representatives. We look forward to striving for each Glenbard graduate leaving our schools as an individual who communicates, creates, collaborates, thinks critically, embraces diversity, and is self-empowered."

U.S. News & World Report's list of best high schools evaluated nearly 18,000 public high schools nationwide based on 2017-18 data. The methodology is available at www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/.
