Hooters to donate one-third of all chicken wing sales on Tuesdays in February to Holy Family School

During the entire month of February, Hooters will donate one-third of all chicken wing sales on Tuesdays to Holy Family School. The Hooters Wings for the Kids Program started in Chicagoland in 1992. Since then it has raised over $785,000 for Holy Family School. The money raised funds tuition, technology and books for underprivileged children in the community. Holy Family School is located in Homan Square on the west side of Chicago. Representatives from Hooters Management Corporation will also be taking part in the school's "Read Across America Day" festivities on Monday, March 2 at 12:30 p.m. During the event Hooters will be presenting the donation of funds raised from the 2020 partnership and reading to children at the school.

• Hooters of Lansing, 17060 S. Torrence Avenue, Lansing;

• Hooters of Melrose Park, 2503 W. North Avenue, Melrose Park;

• Hooters of Oak Lawn, 9159 S. Ciero Avenue, Oak Lawn;

• Hooters of Orland Park, 15300 S. LaGrange Road, Orland Park;

• Hooters of O'Hare, 8225 W. Higgins Road, Chicago;

• Hooters of Schaumburg, 1110 N. Perimeter Drive, Schaumburg;

• Hooters on Wells Street, 660 N. Wells Street, Chicago.

Holy Family School was established in 1985 to offer a high-quality education for minority students in Chicago's low-income neighborhoods. Holy Family provides a learning environment that nurtures intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth for students Kindergarten - eighth. On average, money donated by Chicagoland Hooters restaurants enables 10 children to receive a first-class education at Holy Family School each year.

"Education is the surest way for a child to rise out of poverty. The partnership with Hooters Management Corporation offers significant support for our children to help them climb the ladder of academic success," said Holy Family School Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Collins.

"We started this program in the Chicagoland area 28 years ago to help raise funds to support children's education in our community," said Hooters Management Corporation Chief Marketing Officer Denise Williams. In addition to the community's support, Holy Family School staff and students throw "wing parties" at Chicagoland locations on Tuesdays in February to help drive donations. In 2019, the Wings for the Kids program raised $105,000.

"In the small town of Waverly, Iowa in the 1960's, my friends attending the teen activities at Luther League every Sunday night included the future founder of Hooters, Ed Droste. Many years later, I called him to see if he would help our little school in the heart of the Chicago Cabrini Green housing projects, where we yearned for a better education for the children," recalls Dr. Susan Infelt Work, CEO Emeritus of Holy Family School. "Ed said yes, and the Hooters' tradition of caring and sharing was launched".
