Glenbard Parent Series speaker to offer simple approach to reaching full potential

The Glenbard Parent Series Navigating Healthy Families will host two events with psychotherapist Amy Morin, based on her bestsellers, "13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don't Do," and "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do," at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the McAninch Arts Center at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.

This program will be repeated at noon Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Marquardt School District 15 administration center, 1860 Glen Ellyn Road in Glendale Heights.

Morin, a licensed clinical social worker and college instructor, will share her simple approach to help people bolster their mental muscle and teach children to become their best selves.

Morin will discuss what not to do as she tackles the types of unhealthy thoughts, behaviors and feelings that hold adults back from raising mentally strong children. She will demonstrate how support, encouragement and guidance help teens develop into empowered, healthy adults.

Continuing professional development units are available for this event.
