2020 Vision Tour: Rock in the New Decade with Face N Time at 9 pm on Saturday, January 11, at Docks Bar & Grill, 313 Liberty St., Wauconda. Always a favorite at Docks - come join the new year fun, tunes and grooves!
Back on the stage, let's continue our introductions of the FNT family.
The foundation of it all…seated at the back of the band, setting the bass line for the whole shebang, manager Lindy Alo makes magic with his 1960 Gretsch Round Badge drums. He started playing at 9 years old, using coffee cans until he could purchase his first drum kit. In grade school, Lindy started his first band: the Crystal Spiders, then played with Bash in high school. During college, he joined the all original music band Bedlum. More recently, Lindy managed and played drums for The Magic Frank Blues Band, plus playing with several great Blues artists throughout Chicagoland, before founding Face N Time.
2019: a time of change. The year started out with FNT's lead singer moving to Dallas, TX. One month later, their lead guitarist moved on as well.
Turning these challenges into opportunities, FNT brought on two wonderful female performers, Kat Johnson and Jeanne Robert who have given the band new direction with all they have to offer. Team players to say the least!
The search for a new guitarist led to Paul McKinney via FNT's favorite back-up bass player, Eli Bennett. Paul joined practice on April 3rd, the same exact day that Willie Kohut, a previous FNT lead guitar extraordinaire, had passed away 2 years earlier. Together, Eli and Willie brought FNT a diamond of a man and guitar player.
So, as they evolve, so does their music. Now, having 5 lead singers, this too has opened the door to endless possibilities: two-, three-, and four-part harmonies plus (the best part) nobody has an ego, just some controlled enthusiasm.
Face N Time's 2020 Vision tour starts 1/11/2020 at Docks. Come out Saturday night as they will be "Making the Music". Hold on -- 2020 is gonna be a blast!
