Free College Workshops in Streamwood, Wheaton & Bartlett

Three free college planning workshops will be held in Streamwood, Wheaton and Bartlett in January.

Sponsored by My College Planning Team (www.mycollegeplanningteam.com), the Streamwood workshopshop will take place on January 16th from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. It is titled "Grants, Scholarships & Loans: A Financial Aid Overview" and will be held at the Poplar Creek Public Library at 1405 S. Park in Streamwood.

"How to Reduce College Costs: Strategies You Need to Know" will take place on January 21st at 7 p.m. at the Wheaton Public Library.

"Navigating the College Search & Admissions Process" will take place on January 22 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.at the Bartlett Public Library, 800 S. Bartlett Road. This workshop explores the complex world of admissions and financial aid to understand what the admissions committee really considers in deciding who to admit and to award money. The workshop will unveil new strategies you can use to get into--and afford--the colleges of your choice. We discuss selectivity, fit, essay prep, and scholarships, all from the perspective of former admissions and university staff. Both parents are encouraged to attend this seminar presented by the academic and financial experts from My College Planning Team.
