St. Thomas the Apostle Church offers 'Handling Grief During the Holidays' Nov. 14

If you have lost a beloved family member or friend, the holidays can be very difficult. The tiniest thing can trigger a wave of sadness.

No one can magically change this situation but you can garner some very good pointers about "Handling Grief During the Holidays" on Thursday, Nov. 14. The program begins at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Facilitated by members of the grief support ministry at the church, this interactive program will discuss the challenges a loss presents and identify strategies to help experience the holiday season with energy and quiet joy.

The grief support ministry includes Paula Kosin, a licensed clinical professional counselor; Mary Ann Burns, a social worker who holds a master's degree in social work; and Linda Wylder, whose career has been in nursing home administration.

Registration for this free program is encouraged to ensure adequate seating arrangements.
