Lurie Children's Announces 15th Annual Move for Kids Event

The 15th Annual Move for Kids, presented by Hub Group, returns to Chicago's lakefront this spring featuring a free, untimed 5K walk. On Sunday, May 19, thousands of Chicagoans will come together at Soldier Field Stadium Green to support the area of greatest need, furthering research and supporting innovative programs, at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

The new Move for Kids format, features an untimed 5k walk, reminding participants to walk together as it takes the whole community, moving in the same direction, to provide a healthier future for children throughout Chicago and beyond. Rather than race to the finish line, Move for Kids invites families to enjoy the journey as one on behalf of all the patients treated at Lurie Children's.

Move for Kids kicks-off at 9:30 a.m. with the untimed walk beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the walk, participants are encouraged to join in a post-race party, taking place at Soldier Field Stadium Green. The celebration includes food trucks, kids' games and activities, and live entertainment. Kids 12-years-old and under are invited to participate in the Grant Thornton 100-meter Kids' Dash, taking place prior to the untimed walk at 10:15 a.m.

Also new this year, registration is free of charge to all participants. Adult participants are asked to fundraise at least $100 to receive an event t-shirt, youth 17-years-old and under are asked to fundraise at least $50 to receive an event t-shirt. Registration will be available up until the morning of the race.

Move for Kids complements Lurie Children's new fundraising campaign to further accelerate research and support innovative programs at the hospital and in the community. Lurie Children's campaign for every child aims to engage the community to help fulfill three promises: the promise of a cure, the promise of a safer space and the promise of a healthier future.
