North Suburban YMCA to Host Healthy Kids Day 5K Run/Walk April 27

The North Suburban YMCA will hold its second annual 5K Run/Walk at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th to celebrate Healthy Kids Day, the YMCA's national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. In addition to the race, located at the Y at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook, the event includes vendors, music, snacks, crafts, and a bounce house.

The community is invited to run or walk the 5K course, and participants may register as an individual or as a team. A "Fun Run" will be held for children age 10 and under, as well as for seniors over 65 years old, and for kids with special needs. Prizes will be given to the overall finishers in youth age groups 19 and under and adults age 20+, and awards will be presented at the post-race awards ceremony.

Registration forms are available at the North Suburban YMCA, or online at www.nsymca.org/hkd2019. Check in and last-minute registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. For those who register in advance, packet pick-up is available at the Y on Friday, April 26th from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
