Casey's Safe Haven Holistic Horse Rescue and Sanctuary invites the community to attend its seventh annual "Down on the Farm" dinner from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.

The dinner will be held at the Creek Bend Nature Center, a 1930s-era home, formerly used as a retreat by the Felician Sisters religious order located in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St. in St. Charles.

The evening will feature live Americana music by Hay & Oats, a delicious home-cooked BBQ buffet by Dave's Slow Food (including vegetarian and vegan food options), wine, beer and soft drinks

There also will be loads of raffle prizes, a 50/50 raffle with a minimum win of $1,000, and games for the family.

New this year will be a visit from Cece, the rescue pony.

Tickets are $50, $15 for kids, age 6 to 15, or free for kids, age 5 or younger. All tickets include: barbecue buffet, soft drinks (lemonade, iced tea, soda, water), dessert, DJ and live music.

Don't miss out on the early bird special! For each adult ticket purchased by Friday, Aug. 31, you will receive 10 free raffle tickets. To purchase tickets online, visit www.caseyssafehaven.org, call Nancy at (630) 880-6993 or email info@caseyssafehaven.org.

This is the nonprofit's largest fundraiser of the year. Casey's Safe Haven Holistic Horse Rescue and Sanctuary operates solely on donations, sponsorships, fundraisers, and grants. Your participation will help it continue to save the lives of more horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and help them find a new home.
